Rome 7

Inside Santa Maria degli Angeli.  The church was built in the ruins of Diocletian's baths in the 16th century.  There were many phases of construction (and therefore many men in charge of the work starting with Michelangelo circa 1563).  The church was later promoted to being a basilica (now under Cardinal Keeler, Archbishop of Baltimore).
The oculus in the dome.

Looking to one of the altars.  It is an interesting mix of recycled Roman pieces (such as the brown columns), and painted (on a budget) items such as the green columns which are paint only, but look real especially from this distance.
A picture showing the detail of the ceiling, window apse, and painted details which look like marble.
